Music Video Treatment

Pitch

What star Image do you want to produce for your artist/ group?

The artist would almost certainly be branded as a singular, unsynthesised artist, who writes their own music, but distributes and advertises her music and image with the help of a large record company.

Our Artist is young, and will come across as a creative and individual type, like in any concept for the music video, she will be different enough to show that level of individuality, but not so much so that she is alienated by the potential fans because they don't understand her, this gives us a broader perspective on target audience.

Though the artist would be one that (supposedly) has full creative control of her work, her image would be maintained and adjusted where appropriate over time, along with the music and her personal style, would be a change managed by us. If she chases to quickly, no one can follow the trend and say, “ I don't like her new stuff ”. As the turn around was to quick to be able to catch on. But if she cannot keep p with changing trends, then her audience my begin to look for a new artist, which can for-fill their musical desires.

She is Indi, New Age, Pop, and everything Hip Young and free, obviously the target would be the younger generation... teens to early twenties.

How would this star image in the video be branded across the campaign?

In terms of the website and the digi-packs, we want to keep the notion that all has been synthesised, the website will be minimalistic and inviting, with links to social media and YouTube, rather than having pages that already display the Archive images, the Music Videos, the Songs, etc… this method will move the audience on to several different platforms on which to follow our Artist.

To add the personal touch, all of the text of the website will be written in the first person, the audience, when reading this, will get the notion that they are talking to our Artist.

The website will more draw to the vibe of the artist rather than the music video, the music video coincides with the song, the song coincides with the artist, but there shouldn't be much connection between the social media aspect of the artist and the Music videos. To represent the broadness of the music videos and styles, we will fake a few more by adding pictures of “other music videos”, which are just pictures we took to look like them.

In and age of modern technology, the Digi-pack, must include a QR code for the website, rather than pasting a website name, this makes searching for the artist easier for the audience members, and speeds up the distribution process.

Inspiring music videos

    FooFighters, Best Of You
 Linkin Park, What Ive Done

Slam Cartels single, and the bands Genre

When discussing the single for the music video, i had to ask the band what kind of feel they where going for, what the song was about, and what they wanted people to take away from it...

"The song is about a time before modern day technology, phones,TV and electricity, people having to go into battle to fight for what they feel is right and their loved ones not knowing whether they will ever see them again, they dream that they will, and whoever it is in battle wondering if they'll ever get back home...

...honour, love, loss, uncertainty and heroes."

I Also Took the time to ask them what the band image was, the words they would use to describe themselves and their genre...

"Our image is: Cowboy/Rustlers/earthy/old souls and outlaws with a good heart".

I also pitched the two idea the group had for them. One using mirrors and younger band members, another where they are on a rainy beach..

"I've discussed this with the guys & we're happy with both ideas, the mirror theme is a very good idea, our hearts say Mirror, our egos say Beach! Ha ha".

Audience Profile Slam Cartel

Rock and Roll

Rock fans, can be hard core, anti-establishment youthful types, but at the same time (depending on the specific genere of Rock n Roll, the fans can be described as those outlaws we see them as, but with kind hearts and good meaning, they are just ruthless and rough when jumping and clamping to the sound of Foo Fighters or RHCP...

For Slam Cartel, this is the case. The fans really get into the music, but the narrative of the bands songs, always deliver a meaning that is positive, or interesting, rather than destructive.

The young hip rockers, don't really exist anymore, a large majority have been sucked into the main stream void that is Spotify's "Top 100" charts. But there are still some there, the majority of the fans are more in their mid 20s to late 40s and even 50s in extremes. Reason being is that this particular Genre of Rock, was very popular among the youth of the 70s, 80s and 90s, after that you Pop Music.

Because the audience profiles will vary so much, I've done two...

This is... Lets say Seth, he's at University, and
despite growing up despising the "old and
uncool" music that his parents had to offer,
he has come to appreciate the sheer awesomeness
of Rock n Roll, at a respectful level that is...

He can go to these concerts and become this
rough and tumble dude, that society is for some
reason afraid of, but in reality he is normal, and
his style of music doesn't really effect his lifestyle.

Age : Early to Mid 20s

Now say hello to the guy who brought up Seth, to some how enjoy the style of music that he liked when he was young, back in the 80s...

Like Seth, Dad doesn't let this Rock n Roll lifestyle become real for him, sure he would enjoy the concert, he loves listening to the bands material at home. But at his age, enacting the lifestyle would be... uncool, and unprofessional. He is an adult and he has to set an example, but that doesn't mean he cant enjoy himself.

Age : 40s to 50s

Though i haven't mentioned, this profiling isn't specific to men, women have just as much reason to enjoy this style of music, but in this case they go without saying... Because they are mostly the girlfriend of Seth and the wife of Dad, Seth's Mother...
